A major strand of the work of ETCbrunel is the research carried out by our own staff members. Research takes advantage of the instrument suite and the multidisciplinary background of the staff, and is often collaborative. Examples of current and recent research projects and collaborations are outlined in the following pages, divided into the following broad categories:
· Metallurgy and Advanced Materials (Including friction stir welding, Electroceramics) · Diamond-like carbon and Nanotubes (Smart tooling, aerospace, medical implants) · Forensics · Biomedical materials and devices (Simulated healing, smart implants, shape-memory alloy) · Environmental · Archaeology and Archaeometrics (Iron work in Ireland, East Asian microbialites)
Click on a link for more details on that aspect of our research. We are currently developing this section of the website and hope to add more pages shortly. We are always interested in developing new contacts for potential collaborations to develop further high class research, for more details please get in touch with any of our staff. PG Research vacancies are advertised on our postgraduate courses page. |
